The third cohort of iCons seniors, the "Third Axis", will present their research during a poster session that is followed by oral presentations from four recipients of the iCons Honorary Research Lectureship Award.
Nominated for this honor by their iCons research advisors, students Meghan Bernier, Robert Green, Sean McGrath, and Carl Pierce will present on the following topics:
"Hazards of handling receipts", Meghan Bernier (BDIC: Environmental & Infectious Disease Epidemiology)
"Unraveling the hidden mechanisms of fungicide resistance through whole genome comparisons in Sclerotinia homoeocarpa", Robert Green (Biology)
"Simulating cellulose for better biofuels", Sean McGrath (Physics)
"Demystifying T cell signaling: Addressing the need for smarter therapeutics", Carl Pierce (Biology)
The Senior Expo provides an opportunity to celebrate how much all of our students have accomplished over the course of the iCons program as they share their real contributions to addressing societal problems through scientific solutions. At the end of the presentations, the seniors will be presented official iCons certificates in recognition of their tremendous accomplishments over the course of the four-year program.
