Heat therapy improvements on long-term COVID-19 symptoms
Effects of heat therapy (HT) on glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity in individuals who are experiencing persistent symptoms after COVID-19 infection, termed post-acute COVID-19 syndrome (PACS)
Provide awareness of the recent research, which indicates that heat therapy, has beneficial effects on whole-body metabolism and insulin sensitivity, comparable to light to moderate exercise, in populations with metabolic dysfunction such as type 2 diabetes, and that this may be an effective therapeutic option in those recovering from COVID-19. There may be insulin resistance in a significant proportion of individuals with long-term symptoms associated with COVID-19 infection; however, this remains largely unstudied.
