Understanding T Cell Signaling
Regulation of mTORC2 Signaling by Notch1
Dysregulation of the Notch and mTOR pathways has been shown to result in cancers and autoimmune diseases. Studies have shown that inhibition of these pathways can result in decreased disease severity; however, these inhibitors often act on other pathways, resulting in a number of severe, systemic side effects. We investigate the interplay between the Notch and mTORC2 pathways, aiming to understand the interactions between the two. Understanding these interactions may allow the development of a more targeted inhibitor, which could allow the treatment of diseases without the widespread side effects seen with the current generation of drugs.
