Executive Summary

As the effects of climate change become more apparent, the world is increasing its reliance on renewable energy to reduce harmful emissions. A major source of renewable energy is wind energy. Wind farms are able to harness the wind, an unlimited resource, and convert it into usable electricity. Placing these wind farms in the ocean allows them to access even more powerful and consistent winds. Future investments and support in the area of offshore wind will fuel further technological advances, including floating platforms, and make commercial offshore wind farms an inexpensive and reliable source of clean energy.
