Executive Summary

The use of fossil fuels in chemical production and energy production leads to a mass amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere every year. These emissions are contributing to the detrimental effects of climate change and an alternative needs to be found. One up-and-coming area of research is focusing on biomass alternatives that can replace the use of fossil fuels. Research is focused on finding the best biomass alternative in hopes of one day industrializing the process.
