You are invited to join UMass iCons for an upcoming faculty development workshop:

Cultural Competency in the Classroom
In this workshop, we will consider the experiences of our students in our classrooms through the lens of “Social Inclusion.” We will examine what it means to build multi-cultural competency in ourselves and how this is connected to creating inclusive learning environments. We will align this with broader notions of belonging in the STEM fields toward classrooms that affirm kindness and ensure dignity in the classroom for all learners. The context of the workshop will focus on STEM teaching, however, the framework, ideas, and pedagogies we will work with are not STEM specifically. They can be used in any classroom/discipline.

Thursday, November 19 | 1:30 – 3:00 pm | Online
Participation is limited to 20 attendees
