iCons alumni are eligible to receive a $10,000 award which will be presented at the annual iCons Senior Celebration.
Applicants must be a graduate of the Integrated Concentration of STEM (iCons) Program at UMass Amherst, having completed their undergraduate degree at least two years before applying for the Mahoney Alumni Award.
About the Mahoney brothers:
The Mahoney brothers—Robert '70, Richard '55, and William '55—earned Chemistry degrees from UMass Amherst. They became industry leaders and high-level alumni advisers to the campus, advocating for innovative approaches to education. Their dedication to student success is evident through their mentorship and training of other alumni. Their extensive family legacy of giving and involvement is recognized across the campus. The Mahoney Alumni Award for the iCons Program, like their other contributions, aims to inspire and recognize excellence.

Crowley-Nowick Award for iCons Student Leadership and Philanthropy
The Crowley-Nowick Award recognizes two members of iCons annually who can inspire a culture of philanthropy and a meaningful sense of community among the current iCons scholars. The recipients of the award organize the giving campaign to fund the Crowley-Nowick Scholarship. To model a sustainable attitude towards giving, the funds raised are matched by Dr. Peggy Crowley-Nowick '86 and in turn awarded to a rising iCons 2 student in recognition of their outstanding achievement and promise for continued excellence in the program.
