Waters Corporation

Company Location: Milford, MA
Company Focus: Research with analytical scientific instruments and software with applications in health, environment, and energy.

This position represents an exciting opportunity for a young scientist to assist in the development of novel technologies utilizing both chromatography and mass spectrometry.  The candidate will work closely with the Separations Research Group of Waters Corporation, a world leader in analytical instrumentation used in all areas of chemical, biochemical and clinical analysis.  The Waters Separations Research Group is a multidisciplinary team of chemists, physicists and engineers responsible for the development of next-generation separations systems.
Waters is looking for creative scientists who want to be part of a fast-moving research team who enjoy hands-on, in-the-lab prototyping.  This may involve the creation of a new instrument or implementing current technology in a new way to solve a problem.  In 2016 for instance, the iCons students developed a novel device to analyze human breath by mass spectrometry.  Ultimately this device could be used to diagnose disease or establish health criteria.
This role will guide and shape development of new products and applications for Waters by integrating knowledge of chemistry and hardware development in the areas of proteomics, drug discovery and development, and clinical research.

Additional Internships for iCons Students

These organizations are knowledgable of the iCons Program and have expressed an interest in giving preferred consideration to iCons students for internship opportunities.

If you are interested, apply directly to the organization AND fill out the internship statement of interest form to let us know you are applying so we can let our corporate contacts know. There is a chance that new companies may be added, so we suggest that you check the website frequently! Many of these organizations have existing internship programs; for such companies, you will apply through the "front door" meaning the usual online application process by each organization's deadline. You will also upload your resume in this form so we can advocate for your application by notifying our contact within each company of your special iCons attitudes, knowledge, and skills. However, some of these companies do not have existing internship programs, precluding a "front door" application. For such companies, we collect your resumes through this form and apply for you.
